The month of June began excellently with the sighting of a rare wader at Renvogelveld near the lighthouse. A Lesser Yellowlegs walked at a short distance in front of the birdwatching hide. The following day, on June 2, the bird was seen again around 8:00 AM but not after that. This is the eighth record for Texel. Another 'yank' appeared on June 3 in nature reserve De Bol. An adult American Golden Plover, a male in breeding plumage, was seen beautifully. The American was accompanied by six Golden Plovers. To date, the bird has been observed irregularly at the same spot. This wader has now been seen thirteen times on Texel.
