Sometimes you get lucky

17 November 2025

In my backyard, there are several hawthorns.

These trees are about four meters tall and bloom in the summer months with beautiful white flowers, which are very attractive to insects and birds. In autumn, hawthorns bear red berries, and even then they remain popular with birds. Thrushes in particular love these fruits. The four species of thrushes in the attached photos could all be photographed within the span of just one hour — simply from the bedroom window… Sometimes you get lucky.
