Join Jos on a birding excursion on Texel!

With a small group, we head out into nature. A fun and educational experience where both you and the birds receive full attention.

Driven Birder & Nature Photographer

Passion for Birds

"My first experience with birdwatching was as a young boy, exploring the polders around my hometown, Rijnsburg, with my father. During secondary school, I often ventured into the Berkheide dune area between Katwijk and Wassenaar with friends to look for birds. In addition to birdwatching and survey work in this nature reserve, I frequently visited hotspots like the Oostvaardersplassen, Scheveningen pier, and IJmuiden. Soon, I began exploring the rest of the Netherlands, followed by visits to many destinations on other continents.

Dedicated Nature Photographer

In addition to being an enthusiastic birder, I am also a dedicated nature photographer specializing in bird photography. This passion makes me feel perfectly at home in my current residence, De Cocksdorp, on Texel, the renowned bird island. On this site, I regularly share blogs featuring recent observations and numerous photos of Texel's avifauna, as well as images from my international travels. Under the name BirdingTexel, I also organize distinctive birding excursions.

I hope to see you soon on Texel and... keep on birding!
