is not an empty word has been confirmed again recent days. In the NIOZ harbor swims since August 23 a female King Eider. The last observation date of this species on the island is 31 July 2001. It was on this date an unfortunately not-twitchable Buff-breasted Sandpiper was observed in the Slufter. In the ferry harbor spent a few days a young Shag. The bird sailed sometimes on the ferry Texel - Den Helder. In the Prins Hendrik Polder (PHP) at 't Horntje rummaged between 21 and 25 August a Hoopoe. The bird was seen very irregular. On August 25, a Bonelli's Warbler was discovered on the Robbenjager. Sound recordings could be made of the call. If accepted this is the seventh sighting of this species on the island. Other less rare but admittedly beautiful observations are for a maximum of three Mediterranean Gulls in PHP, a Cattle Egret in Den Hoorn, 2 Wrynecks and a juvenile Purple Heron.
