It starts to be almost normal but the last five days again good species were seen on Texel. On October 17 there was a report of a Great Shearwater at post 9. Like most Shearwaters was this bird not twitchable. A discovered Hume's Leaf Warbler in the Krimbos was seen by only a lucky few. At this site also at least 3 Yellow-browed Leaf Warblers were present. The Dusky Warbler was last seen on Friday. Regular alerts came in from observed Parrot Crossbills in the Staatsbossen (State Forests). To see the birds was a lengthy stay on the lookout at the Fonteinsnol at the beginning of Westerslag often a requirement.

After a joint search of about 10 men was the bird recovered and could the identification be confirmed. Even today, the bird was sometimes seen. This is the third 'Texel' Blyth's Reed Warbler in 3 weeks.
