The Blyth's Reed Warbler, discovered on November 9, has been present for 16 days in an orchard in Den Burg. This breeding bird from Northeast Europe and Central Asia hibernates in Southeast Asia and India. Apparently the bird finds enough food in the abundant ivy and blackberry bushes. The first record on Texel dates from 28 September 2013. After that, the species was seen eight more times, bringing the total to nine. In the Netherlands, this species was not seen so late in the fall.
