Melancholic singer?

Lullula arborea is the scientific name of the Wood Lark. 'Lullula' refers to the exuberant, somewhat melancholic vocals, which are usually performed high up in the air. In mid-February they can sometimes be heard. This breeding bird, scarce on Texel (10-15 breeding pairs in 2017), prefers low-nutrient sandy soils and is often found at dune forest edges.

That the spring is approaching, is confirmed by the first group of about fifteen Spoonbills that was seen last week in the Geulplas. The first Marsh Harriers already soar above the reed beds. In addition, Black-tailed Godwits are heard and seen as well as White Wagtails. On the east side the first Pied Wagtail of the year has been seen. Soon the first Bluethroat will undoubtedly been reported......
